When Winning Is The Only Option

ZuppkeLaw Is The Only Law Firm

What To Wear To Court

Are you flipping through your wardrobe wondering what to wear to court? Do you want to look professional but don’t have a suit?

For the last 35 years, ZuppkeLaw has been suing individuals and small to large sized businesses on behalf of our personal injury, employment, car accident, discrimination, and dog bite clients. Some of our clients come to court well-dressed. Others don’t. You are entitled to your own opinion, but whether you believe it or not, looking professional shows that you respect the legal process and the court’s time.

Let’s face it, the way that you present yourself could be a determining factor for you and your case. So, before you grab an old pair of sweatpants to wear to your arraignment, please reconsider.

What To Wear To Court?

If you have a suit, wear it. Black or blue. You’t don’t need to look extravagant. Forget about your ostrich leather white shoes because black on black is always safe. There is no real dress code in court, but there are practical standards.

What Can I Wear To Court If I Don’t Have A Suit?

If you don’t have a suit and are trying to figure out what to wear to court, consider dressing business casual: khakis, a tucked in collared shirt, dress shoes, a sport coat. You don’t need to look like you’re on Wall Street, but you should dress as if you were going on a first date.
